Claudio Pizarro is a Peruvian retired professional footballer. He currently serves as club ambassador for FC Bayern Munich. Pizarro played a total of nine seasons for FC Bayern (2001-2007 and 2012-2015), scoring 125 goals in 327 appearances. He has won the Bundesliga title six times with the Bavarian side, the DFB Cup five times, the Intercontinental Cup in 2001, and the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2013. In the Bundesliga, he holds the record for the most appearances by a non-German and being the oldest goalscorer in the competition.
Throughout his playing career, he was an absolute international and captain of the Peruvian team, of which he is the fifth historical scorer. Widely considered as the greatest exponent of Peruvian football in Europe, he is the Latin American soccer player with the highest scorer and winner in the history of soccer in Germany. All-time club top scorer S. V. Werder Bremen, the ninth top scorer in the history of Bayern Munich and the sixth top scorer in the entire history of the Bundesliga and the second top scorer in the 21st century. He is also among the 20 top scorers in the history of the UEFA club competitions and is the seventh South American footballer with the most goals in football history European.
