Donovan Powell comes to Hartford Athletic by way of Drexel University and Learfield Sports – where he served as general manager of sports properties – and Detroit City FC – where he led business operations and was the first full-time employee of the Club. Under his leadership, Detroit City FC became one of the most exciting soccer clubs in the U.S. at any level and a financial and cultural success in the Detroit region. Under Powell, the Club’s average attendance increased 200%+ to more than 6,000 fans per game in 2017 and garnered national media attention due to the passionate support of their fans.
