Biography

James Pallotta is an American billionaire businessman and former co-owner and and Chairman of AS Roma. From 1993 to 2009 Mr. Pallotta worked for Tudor Investment Corporation, a multi-strategy hedge fund with over $21 billion in managed assets, starting as managing director of the U.S. Equity Securities Group in 1993 and rising to vice-chairman by 2005. At Tudor, Mr. Pallotta created and led the Raptor Global Funds portfolio, which he started with $200 million in assets under management in 1993 and guided to over $11 billion at its peak. In 2009, Mr. Pallotta left Tudor Investment Corporation to found Raptor Group, a Boston-based investment management firm active in venture and growth investments.

 

In 2012, Mr. Pallotta was part of a joint initiative to become co-owner of AS Roma, and eventually chairman of the club. Under his eight years (2012-2020) of leadership, the club improved in its standing and future prospects in many respects. Mr. Pallotta led AS Roma to a league points total second only to Juventus and on par with Napoli, and to the strongest run of Champions League qualifications in club history including a rise to the Champions League semi-final against Liverpool in 2018. In addition to AS Roma, Mr. Pallotta also spent time as co-owner and executive board member of the Boston Celtics.
