Born in Santos, Brazil, Kely Nascimento-Deluca is the eldest daughter of Brazilian soccer legend Pelé. Pelé moved his family to Manhattan in 1975 to play for the NYCosmos and Kely remained a New Yorker ever since.
Kely attended the Parsons School of Design and has worked as an editorial, portrait and social commentary photographer, creative director and producer of multi-media and art projects.
During the 2014 World Cup, hosted by her native Brazil for the first time since 1950, Kely documented her father in a video blog for which she created daily content chronicling his experience and giving the world a peak at The Real Pelé (FB @therealpele). The Real Pelé was broadcast by major television stations worldwide.
Kely is currently working on a documentary and a global multi-platform initiative to promote women’s soccer and equality around the world and is a proud Ambassador for the Global Goals World Cup ggwcup.com. Kely currently lives in NYC with her husband, 4 children and 9 chickens.
